At this point, if you wish to steam milk for a cappuccino, latte or macchiato you should begin steaming the milk. Place the amount of milk you desire into a small carafe (not provided). Position the carafe of milk such that the steaming wand is inserted into the milk. Then, turn the steam knob located on the upper right hand side of the cappuccino machine until you hear steam emerging and see the milk begin to bubble. Keeping the wand inserted into the milk at all times, move the milk up and down. For best results, bring the tip of the steaming wand near the surface of the milk to introduce air into the milk. Then, when the milk carafe begins to feel warm in your hand, turn the steam knob to the off position....

Remove the milk carafe.
When the flow of espresso into the carafe has stopped, the espresso is ready. Turn the power button to the off mode. The light should no longer be illuminated. You may pour your espresso and prepare your beverage.

Do not remove the coffee holder at this point as the device is still under pressure. You may ease the pressure by turning the steaming knob to the on position, releasing steam. or, you may wait fifteen minutes until the remaining water in the machine has cooled. Once the pressure has been removed by one of these methods, you may remove the coffee holder by turning it to a 45 degree angle. You will hear a click indicating that it has been released.
